The Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board (HWCDSB) launches its Multi-Year Strategic Plan (MYSP) for 2025-2028, a shared roadmap that will guide our mission of Believing, Achieving, and Serving in the years ahead.
Developed through consultation with nearly 4,000 parents, students, staff, trustees, clergy, and community partners, the plan reflects the shared faith, values, and aspirations of our Catholic community. Rooted in our mission to place Christ at the centre of all we do, the MYSP reaffirms our collective commitment to nurturing the spiritual, academic, and personal growth of every student through the gift of publicly funded Catholic education.
"This plan reflects the shared vision of our Catholic community one that places Christ at the centre of all we do," said John Valvasori, Chairperson of the Board. "As a Board of Trustees, we are entrusted with the governance and stewardship of Catholic education. The Multi-Year Strategic Plan provides a clear framework for decision-making, accountability, and service rooted in our faith."
Grounded in the Board's values of Believing, Achieving, and Serving, the MYSP identifies four key goals that will guide our collective work:
- Promote Academic & Co-Curricular Excellence - Enhancing faith-infused learning, leadership development, and opportunities for student growth in mind, body, and spirit.
- Transform the Future - Fostering continuous learning, leadership succession, technological innovation, and wellness for students and staff.
- Promote a Culture of Christian Service - Advancing equity, truth and reconciliation, stewardship, and service as central to Catholic life.
- Pursue & Strengthen Partnerships - Deepening collaboration with parishes, families, and community partners to support student faith and achievement.
"The MYSP is a living expression of our mission in action," said David Hansen, Director of Education. "It gives direction to the daily work of our schools and ensures that every initiative, from curriculum to community partnership, reflects our commitment to faith, excellence, and student well-being."
Implementation of the MYSP will be monitored regularly, with oversight by the Board of Trustees. Progress will be measured through clear outcomes and shared publicly.
The plan represents more than a strategic framework; it is a faith-filled commitment to nurturing excellence, Christian service, and Catholic identity in every school and office across the Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board.
