At the Renfrew County District School Board (RCDSB) meeting held on November 25, 2025, the Board of Trustees elected Leo Boland (City of Pembroke) as Chair and Roger Clarke (Whitewater region, Admaston Bromley) as Vice-Chair for the upcoming year.
"It is an honour to accept this leadership role and continue the vital work alongside Vice-Chair Clarke and our fellow trustees," said Chair Leo Boland.
"Our Board remains firmly committed to enhancing student achievement, equity, and overall well-being across the county. We look forward to implementing local priorities through our new strategic plan from 2026 to 2030 and ensuring every RCDSB student has the opportunity to succeed."
Vice-Chair Roger Clarke further emphasized the focus on collaboration, adding, "I am eager to contribute to the success of our schools in this new capacity. I look forward to collaborating closely with Chair Boland and the Board as we navigate the possibilities and challenges ahead, always maintaining our shared commitment to outstanding education.

The RCDSB Board of Trustees is composed of eight publicly elected trustees, one appointed Algonquin Trustee and two student trustees. Each trustee represents a specific area of Renfrew County, ensuring that diverse community voices are heard at the decision-making table.

The student voice is represented by Sydney Dougherty, a Student Trustee from Arnprior District High School, and Bronwynn Dick, who begins her first year in this role, is an Opeongo High School student.
Trustee Responsibilities
As Members of the Board, the Trustees' roles are defined in the Education Act. They maintain a strong focus on student achievement, equity, and well-being. Trustees serve as a link between RCDSB communities and schools, ensuring that system-wide policymaking continues to meet the diverse needs of all students.
