In a small and intimate ceremony on Thursday, December 21, CEC presented the 2017 Governor General's Medal and Queen Elizabeth Medal to Jack Lynds and December Sampson respectively.

The Governor General's Medal and Queen Elizabeth Medal have previously been awarded during graduation ceremonies. There is a directive stating that these medals must be based on final grades and not anticipated or predicated grades. Unfortunately, final IB grades are not available until late summer.
