Pembina Hills Public Schools is pleased to announce the appointment of Pauline Gilmour as the Principal of Busby School effective the 2018-2019 school year.
Pauline grew up in Victoria, British Columbia and moved to Edmonton to complete her Bachelor of Education degree at the University of Alberta's Campus St-Jean. She taught in both French Immersion and regular programs for many years. Pauline also completed her Master of Education in Elementary Education, specializing in literacy.
In her experience as an Assistant Principal at École Dunluce School, she engaged a large, vibrant and diverse parent community by encouraging families to collaborate as partners. Recently, Pauline was appointed as an Educational Consultant for English as a Second Language for Edmonton Public Schools. In this position, Pauline developed a passion for instructional leadership and provided support to Principals at 25 schools from Kindergarten to Grade 12. She also mentored and provided professional development to teachers.
Pauline has 3 grown daughters; 2 who are also teachers, and one who is a musician that teaches music. When Pauline is not working, she enjoys travelling, riding her fat-bike and kayaking with her husband.
Pauline believes a Principal's role is to create an environment where every student is successful and good communication thrives between the school and the home. She is looking forward to making a difference with the staff and students at Busby School.
