On May 24th, the Superior Court of Justice had the pleasure of hosting the winners of HJEN's annual Twitter Moot. The main moot question this year was, "Should administrative segregation (solitary confinement) be outlawed in Canada?"
Thomas Kromka from St. Thomas More Catholic Secondary School was the winner for Best Tweet, while four students from Glendale were chosen as a group as winner for Best Overall Contribution. As a prize, these bright young students, along with their law teachers, had the opportunity to have a sit-down lunch with Justice Jane Milanetti of the Ontario Superior Court.
Many thanks to St. Thomas More's law teacher, Andrea Leone, for inspiring her students to enthusiastically participate in HJEN's initiatives. St. Thomas More should be extremely proud of its Grade 11 and 12 law classes for their excellent submissions. We look forward to reading next year's tweets!
