Lesley MacDonald, CPHR, has been named Director of Human Resources for the Annapolis Valley Regional Centre for Education (AVRCE).
MacDonald brings a wealth of experience to this role. She has worked in Nova Scotia's education system since 1986, starting in the Annapolis District School Board Curriculum Office, followed by a number of positions in the Human Resources Department of AVRCE and the former Annapolis Valley Regional School Board. Most recently, MacDonald was AVRCE Coordinator of Human Resources.
"Lesley's experience in the public school system, both locally and provincially, has provided her with valuable knowledge and has earned the respect of those she has worked with here in the Valley and across Nova Scotia. She has a strong understanding of human resources best practices and policies within the education system, which wil l serve us well into the future," said Dave Jones, AVRCE Acting Regional Executive Director of Education.
MacDonald is committed to the AVRCE vision of working together for students . ' She is noted for her collaborative leadership style as well as her effective communication and problem-solving skills.
MacDonald will begin as Director of Human Resources on August 1, 2018. Her appointment follows the retirement of Erica Weatherbie, who has 34 years of dedicated service beginning with the Kings County District School Board in 1984.
