New School Vice Principal Positions Announced

Comox Valley Schools is pleased toannounce Don McRae as a new districtvice principal.Commencing February 19th, Mr. McRae will assume the position at Highland SecondarySchool.

McRaebegan teaching in the school districtin 1995 in a variety of subjectsbefore taking leave to represent Comox Valley in the Provincial Legislature. He returned to the education facultyin 2017to teach at Highland.

McRae will replace Lee McKillican who will transfer to G.P. Vanier Secondary effective February 19th. McKillican also started histeaching career with the district in 1995 atRobb Road Middle and moved to Cape Lazo until its closure. McKillican transferredto Highland andbeganhis career as a vice-principal in 2014.

McKillican will assume the position previously held by Greg Kochanuk. Mr. Kochanuk recently accepted the position of District Vice-Principal/AssociatePrincipal of the International Student Program.

Kochanukhas servedwiththedistrict forclose to 20 yearsteachingat Vanier, NIDESand Highland. For the last seven yearshe has been a vice-principalfirst atHighland andlaterVanier.
