Board announces Mr. Dwayne Zarichny appointed Superintendent of Schools

The Board of Trustees is pleased to announce that Mr. Dwayne Zarichny has been appointed Superintendent of Schools for Medicine Hat Catholic Board of Education effective August 1, 2019.

Dwayne will assume the role of Superintendent of Schools from Mr. Joe Colistro, who is retiring at the end of this school year. The Board expresses their sincere appreciation to our outgoing Superintendent and thanks him for his exceptional service to the district.

Dwayne has served as Deputy Superintendent for East Central Catholic Schools, Associate Superintendent for Living Waters Catholic Schools and Superintendent of Schools for Leaf Rapids School District.

A graduate of Gonzaga University and possessing a Master's degree, he is currently working on his Doctorate degree from Western University. Dwayne brings a wealth of experience in Catholic education. In addition, his experience as Director of International Programs will support the District's endeavor to expand our International Education Program offering.

"It will be an honour to serve the students and staff of Medicine Hat Catholic Schools, and I am excited to have the opportunity to get to know the students and staff, parents and our parish community ", Dwayne Zarichny.

Dwayne will assume his duties August 1, 2019. Along with his wife Angelica, Dwayne has been blessed with 2 boys, Joshua and Matthew. His family is looking forward to moving to Medicine Hat and being part of this wonderful community.
