On February 12, 2020, the Lambton Kent District School Board (LKDSB) and the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Local 1238 reached a tentative agreement.
The agreement is subject to ratification by both parties. Details will be available following ratification. In LKDSB schools and across the system, CUPE represents education workers, which include Custodians, Early Childhood Educators, Educational Assistants, Library and Information Technology staff, and other school-based and central office support staff.
"We are pleased to reach a tentative agreement with CUPE," said Chair Jane Bryce. "We appreciate the ongoing dedication and commitment of all CUPE staff, who provide important supports and services in our schools and across the Lambton Kent District School Board."
A provincial collective agreement between CUPE, the Council of Trustees' Association and the Government of Ontario was ratified on November 4, 2019.
