KENORA CATHOLIC DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARD
Virtual Students Working Together

October 27, 2020

Students at St. Isidore Virtual School are working on doing activities together, while apart. Synchronous learning can take many different forms for students. From baking, to art, to planting seeds there are many activities that students are doing together virtually.

For the Grade 3 and 4 students at St. Isidore Virtual School Fridays are when they work on activities that promote community and often include family members. Some of the activities have included making Rice Krispies with a secret ingredient chosen by the student and their family helper, baking chocolate chip cookies with a secret ingredient, planting seeds and sharing progress virtually, as well as art activities and dance workouts.

Synchronous learning activities allow students to interact and develop a sense of community. It also allows the kids to develop new friendships, as classrooms are comprised of students from Kenora and Red Lake.
