At its annual organizational meeting on December 1st, the OCDSB elected a chair and vice chair of the Board of Trustees for the 2020-2021 year.
Trustee Lynn Scott was re-elected as Chair of the Board of Trustees. Scott is the trustee for Zone 1, West Carleton - March/Stittsville/ Rideau- Goulbourn.
"It's time to get on with advancing our strategic plan, particularly in the areas of equity and human rights," said Scott. "The pandemic has highlighted needs and inequities in our system, and we need to pull together, with our staff and community partners, to find the best solutions to help every student succeed in a safe and caring environment."
Trustee Keith Penny was re-elected Vice-Chair of the Board of Trustees. Penny is the trustee for Zone 8, Orléans-Cumberland.
"In the last few months with the cooperation and goodwill of the parents, students, and staff we've weathered the challenges that COVID-19 has put before us. Now it's time to look forward and plan for the future where we tackle the big objectives in our strategic plan. To enhance our culture of caring, of innovation and of social responsibility. I'm honored to be part of this organization and look forward to doing the best I can for our students," said Penny.
Trustees were also elected to various standing, statutory, ad hoc, special purpose, and other committees that have been established, along with trustee representation to other organizations and agencies.
