Holy Spirit Catholic School Division is pleased to announce that Mrs. Crystal Lothian has been appointed as the division's new Director of Support Services.
Mrs. Lothian holds two Bachelor Degrees in Art (1999) and Education (2001), and has just recently completed her Masters of Education in Educational Leadership (2020) from the University of Lethbridge. She also brings 18 years of diverse educational experience to her new role, having worked in a variety of educational capacities for elementary and junior high students in both urban and rural settings. She has served as an administrator at St. Francis Junior High School for the past eight years, the last three as Principal.
"Crystal's training and background experience in instructional coaching, administration and supporting all learners will prove beneficial as we continue to provide quality instruction that will support optimal learning in the greater community of Holy Spirit Catholic Schools," says Superintendent Ken Sampson. "She will be a wonderful addition to our divisional team."
Mrs. Lothian notes that she is excited to begin the challenge of this new role. "I feel as though my past experiences have all led me to this position where I can pursue my passion for supporting student learning; facilitating collaborative working relationships with families and staff to ensure that all of our students achieve their full potential," she explains. "I believe that serving as the Director of Support Services will give me the opportunity to affect greater change and have a more direct impact on influencing educational practices that are flexible, adaptable and responsive to the strengths and needs of the learning community as a whole."
Crystal is an active participant in her faith and a member of the St. Martha Parish community in Lethbridge. She and her husband, Greg, are the proud parents to two teenage daughters.
