The Conseil scolaire catholique Providence (Csc Providence) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs. Eugénie Congi as Director of Education and Secretary.
Renowned and sought after for her sense of leadership and innovation, Mrs. Eugénie Congi is confidently assuming the management of Csc Providence.
"We are pleased to welcome Eugénie Congi to the Conseil scolaire catholique Providence and would like to congratulate her on this appointment as Director of Education," said Doris Sauvé, Chair of the Csc Providence Board. "Her experience in the fields of education and technology will certainly be an asset that will allow Csc Providence to continue its journey towards excellence."
Mrs. Congi has over 26 years of experience in the education sector, with 12 years as a senior executive that included the positions of Director of Education and Supervisory Officer. The major challenges of minority education are well known to her, since she previously worked at various school boards, including the Conseil des écoles catholiques du Centre-Est, the Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario and the Conseil scolaire de district catholique de l'Est ontarien. Mrs. Congi has also served as a school principal, teacher and special education educator.
"I am extremely pleased and humbled to accept the position of Director of Education at the Conseil scolaire catholique Providence and I am very excited about the challenges that await me," said Mrs. Congi. "In collaboration with our school communities and partners, we will continue our efforts to support the well-being, skills development and success of every student and will foster non-discriminatory environments by focusing on equity, diversity, inclusiveness and respect within our schools."
With a master's degree in Education and three bachelor's degrees, Mrs. Congi has been responsible for numerous educational and business files, including strategic planning, transforming the student learning experience, student achievement and engagement, and special education.
She has been a member of the advisory committee of the EdCan network since 2019. She has also been a member of the Association des gestionnaires de l'éducation franco-ontarienne (AGÉFO) for more than 15 years and, over the past year, has served on the Conseil ontarien des directeurs et des directeurs des conseils catholiques (CODEC), the Conseil ontarien des directeurs et directeurs de l'éducation de langue française (CODELF), and the Conseil ontarien des directions de l'éducation (CODE).
Eugénie Congi will become Director of Education at Conseil scolaire catholique Providence as of Wednesday, June 22. She will succeed Joseph Picard, who will remain in office until August 31 to ensure a seamless transition of files at the start of the school year.
