University hires new energy manager

Blair McFarlane has joined UFV as Energy Manager.

Blair McFarlane is UFV's new energy manager.

Blair comes to the university following energy management roles with the Nanaimo-Ladysmith School District and Fraser Health Authority. He holds a Geography degree from the University of Lethbridge and a Sustainable Energy Management certificate from BCIT.

"We're very pleased Blair is joining our group," said Mark Goudsblom, UFV Director of Facilities and Project Management. "Hiring an energy manager strengthens UFV's commitment to a sustainable future by finding more energy reduction solutions while promoting energy awareness throughout the university community."

UFV engagement in energy management stems from an ongoing focus on the environment and helps reduce utility costs and our carbon footprint across all campuses and locations.
