St. Thomas University and the Faculty Association of the University of St. Thomas have ratified new collective agreements for the full- and part-time bargaining units.
The agreements apply to approximately 210 full- and part-time faculty members and run from July 1, 2016 to June 30, 2019.
The agreements were reached on October 5, 2016 following six months of collective bargaining and were recently ratified by the membership and the university's Board of Governors.
Changes to the agreements include a commitment by the University to share with the union information needed to administer the collective agreements, simplifying the deadline for faculty to submit final grades, new employment equity provisions for the hiring of part-time faculty, and cost of living adjustments.
St. Thomas University President and Vice-Chancellor, Dawn Russell, and Faculty Association President, Dr. Craig Proulx, thanked their bargaining teams for their work which led to the successful conclusion of negotiations.
