Capilano University is pleased to announce that Ramin Shadmehr has joined the University as the new dean, Fine & Applied Arts. Shadmehr comes to CapU from BCIT where he served most recently as program head, Digital Design Development, Technical Arts and 3D Modelling.

With more than 15 years of experience in education, media and technology, Shadmehr has delivered leadership expertise in educational learning and design, interdisciplinary teaching, work integrated learning and educational technology.
"With a background in technology and innovation in education, Ramin brings to a forward looking approach that promises to contribute new possibilities for CapU students," says Laureen Styles, EdD, VP academic & provost, Capilano University.
He is the founder of Techies of Tomorrow Digital Solutions, a creative team of designers and developers engaged in gaming, visual effects and simulations, and cross platform app development. He also serves as a subject matter expert for Private Training Institutions Branch of the Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Training in supporting the review process for degree and credential program applications.
Shadmehr holds a Master of Education in imaginative education from Simon Fraser University, where he is currently pursuing his Doctor of Education in educational technology and learning design.
