Time magazine has named Brock University as one of the World's Top Universities.
The news magazine's inaugural ranking, published online Wednesday, Jan. 28, highlights Brock as one of the Top 10 universities in Ontario, Top 25 in Canada and the Top 500 across the globe.
Brock placed 471 overall in the rankings, which celebrate universities around the world that have demonstrated an outstanding commitment to fostering environments where students thrive.
"Time magazine's rankings support what we already know to be true: Brock University is a dynamic institution rooted in community that shines thanks to its teaching and research excellence and renowned student experience," says President and Vice-Chancellor Lesley Rigg. "Brock is where students come to realize their full potential and gain the skills and knowledge to reimagine the future and reshape the world. We're proud of all that we're able to accomplish together as we support the academic growth and career aspirations of the leaders of tomorrow."
Conducted in partnership with research firm Statista, the global rankings reviewed more than 2,500 institutions worldwide and looked at three key pillars of higher education excellence: academic capacity and performance; innovation and economic impact; and global engagement.
A wide range of data was collected and verified by Statista to analyze how well each university is positioned to produce world-class scholarship, translate knowledge into real-world value and build its international footprint both through on-campus internationality and worldwide attention.
"Through the efforts of our talented and dedicated faculty and staff, Brock continues to make its mark in each of these key areas and the world is increasingly taking notice," Rigg says.
Brock also received recognition earlier this month in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings, with the University's Psychology and Education Studies programs ranking 401-500 and 501-600, respectively.
Time's World's Top Universities rankings will be published in the magazine's print edition on Friday, Feb. 20.
