St. Clair College was delighted to work with the Windsor Region Society of Architects and become a supporting sponsor of "Walkable Windsor". A free public lecture that featured Jeff Speck, a city planner and author who advocates internationally for more walkable cities. As Director of Design at the National Endowment for the Arts from 2003 through 2007, he presided over the Mayors' Institute on City Design and created the Governors' Institute on Community Design.
Jeff and Mark Nickita (the former Mayor and City Commissioner of Birmingham, Michigan) addressed an audience of over 300 individuals on June the 11th at the St. Clair Centre for the Arts. The lecture focused on City Planning and how it is tied to transportation, mobility, architecture and equity . including their contributions to our community culture!!!
