Collège Boréal Board of Directors Chair Linda Dugas and President Daniel Giroux signed last Thursday a first agreement to implement the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Board members also approved an action plan tabled by the College's senior management.

The 17 SDGs are in line with Collège Boréal's values of commitment, excellence, humanism, integrity and respect:

The first steps in implementing the action plan include raising staff awareness of the impact of these goals, including them in the College's 2025-2030 Strategic Plan, and developing measurable goals. This plan will be implemented starting in the fall of 2025.

"Collège Boréal's strong commitment to concrete actions in favour of sustainable development is first and foremost a promise to our students and to the regions we serve: the commitment of a French-language post-secondary institution that assumes its responsibility to train future generations while respecting the values essential to the development of each and every individual, for a society that is fairer, more inclusive and more respectful of the environment."

Linda Dugas, Chair of Collège Boréal's Board of Directors

"Since its creation, Collège Boréal has always been at the forefront of technology, adopting innovative measures to encourage best practices: developing distance learning courses accessible to as many people as possible, promoting environmental research projects, and implementing equity, diversity, and inclusion strategies at the very heart of its organization. These examples are all part of our new commitment to the United Nations and will benefit tomorrow's leaders as they are being trained at Boréal."

Daniel Giroux, President of Collège Boréal
