A partnership serving the community
Collège Boréal and the Center francophone du Grand Toronto (CFGT) are announcing the signing of a memorandum of understanding to establish ongoing collaboration to contribute to the settlement, training and employment needs of Francophones in the Greater Toronto Area. This agreement will strengthen employability, improve access to French-language services and stimulate entrepreneurial innovation within the region's Francophone community.
A shared commitment to the future
Flagship initiatives include the promotion of French-language training and employment services, the submission of joint funding applications for employment assistance workshops, as well as the complementary offer of internships and professional opportunities within the CFGT and Boréal. The two partners are also committed to expanding access to French-language services by stimulating Francophone entrepreneurship through Collège Boréal's Desjardins Space for Innovation, Research, and Incubation (EIRI), while collaborating around key moments of the year such as Francophonie Month, International Women's Day and Pride Season.
This agreement with the Center francophone du Grand Toronto reflects our shared desire to build strong bridges between Francophone organizations. By combining our expertise in immigration, training, and employability, CFGT and Boréal are making a tangible impact on the socio-economic integration of Francophones in the Greater Toronto Area. And thanks to the Desjardins Space for Innovation, Research, and Incubation, we go well beyond traditional training: we offer structured support for entrepreneurs, mentorship, networking opportunities, and resources available both in person and online. This initiative complements the wide range of training programs and services already offered at Boréal.
Carole Nkoa, Vice-President of Collège Boréal for Central and Southwestern Ontario
We are proud of this synergy, which enables us to offer complementary services tailored to the needs of Toronto's Francophone community. This strategic partnership marks a major step forward in welcoming and supporting the professional integration of Francophones in the Greater Toronto Area. It aligns fully with our 2025-2030 strategic plan, which aims to strengthen the resilience and autonomy of the Francophone community through meaningful collaborations, while embodying CFGT's core values: listening, respect, solidarity, innovation, and collaboration. With over 40 years of commitment, the Center francophone du Grand Toronto remains the essential gateway for Francophones living in the region or choosing to settle here.
