The Department of Education is seeking full-time Grade 11, 12, and post-secondary students to apply for a $2,800 bursary through the Government of Canada's Explore program.
Explore is a five-week intensive French language-immersion program offered in the spring or summer. Participants receive a bursary, awarded by random draw, which covers tuition fees for the program, instructional materials, meals and accommodations, workshops, and other mandatory activities. The educational institution receives the bursary directly.
Participants from Nunavut can have their travel fees reimbursed and be granted five credits for their participation in the program.
The application deadline is February 15, 2019. For more information, please contact Nunavut's territorial coordinator, Josianne Beaumont, at 867-975-5652 or jbeaumont@gov.nu.ca. To apply online, please visit www.myexplore.ca.
A program that runs a shorter three-week program during the summer is also being piloted for students age 13-15.
