Cégep Heritage College has set the wheels in motion in order to find a successor to Director General Michael Randall who has announced his retirement effective August 1, 2019, after 34 years of service in public education.

Mr. Randall joined Heritage in 2010 as Academic Dean and was later appointed Director General in January of 2014. He started his career in education at the high-school level in 1985. His involvement in the Cégep network began in 1994 as a professor at Cégep St-Laurent, and continued on when he became Coordinator of Modern Languages at Collège Gérald Godin in 1999.
Under his guidance, Cégep Heritage College expanded its Gatineau Campus; a $11.9 million project completed in 2016. He also helped bring a formal recognition of the Campbell's Bay campus as a Collegiate Study Centre in 2017. He has provided continued support to the successful work being done by the Cégep Heritage College Foundation.
During his tenure, new programs were initiated at Heritage such as Special Care Counselling and a Flight Training Program in partnership with International Pilot Academy. Mr. Randall has also been instrumental in expanding the College's international student base, in particular, with recruitment of students from France wishing to study in English.
Michael Randall was also very active in the Outaouais community as Co-chair of the Table Éducation Outaouais (TÉO), and he is currently Co-chair of the English College Steering committee. His contribution will leave a lasting legacy at Cégep Heritage College which is celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2019.
