ASSOCIATION POUR LA RECHERCHE AU COLLÉGIAL
FRQS Recherches en milieu collégial PROGRAM

September 26, 2023

The Association pour la recherche au collégial will hold a new online information session on the FRQS Recherches en milieu collégial program on Tuesday, September 26, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Cégeps, subsidized private colleges, and government schools are encouraged to promote the activity as they see fit.

Through its Recherches en milieu collégial : soutien à des projets en équipe program, the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS) aims to promote between colleges or inter-level teamwork, and offer an inclusive measure by enabling, among other things, researchers at college centres for technology transfer and holders of a graduate degree to participate. This grant, set at $55,000 (maximum) per year for no more than three years, will fund a project led by at least two people. A total of three grants will be awarded for 2024-2025. Pre-applications must be submitted through the FRQS electronic portfolio no later than 4 p.m. on November 15, 2023. The ARC information session will cover the objectives; eligibility requirements; ethics obligations; equity, diversity and inclusion requirements; and the program rules. The available resources, the qualities of a well-prepared grant application, and the mistakes to avoid will also be described.

This information session will be offered online to ensure access to the widest possible audience. You can also speak to the resource persons in both English and French. Anyone interested in registering can fill out this form: https://forms.gle/G5hnutnCQ9d4ReyC8. Institutional contributions to ARC make it possible for members of those institutions to participate free of charge. Otherwise, the fees are outlined in the fee schedule.

New projects funded in 2023-2024 under the recent Recherches en milieu collégial competition:

  • Catherine Fichten, Parasomnias and other negative sleep-related phenomena among post-secondary students with and without disabilities (Dawson College)
  • Jean-François Lemay, Optimisation de nanoparticules virales pour la création de vaccins et d'immunothérapie [Optimization of viral nanoparticles in the creation of vaccines and immunotherapy] (Cégep de Shawinigan)
  • Jean-Guillaume Simard, Vers une mobilité inclusive : portrait de la mobilité des personnes atteintes d'ataxie récessive spastique de Charlevoix-Saguenay et des facteurs qui l'influence [Toward inclusive mobility: A portrait of the mobility of people with recessive spastic ataxia in Charlevoix-Saguenay and the contributing factors] (Cégep de Jonquière)
