College of the Rockies introduced a new certificate for fall 2024. The Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences certificate is a one-year program designed to explore post-secondary education. Once complete, students can continue for an additional year of full-time studies and earn an associate degree which can then lead to completing the Bachelor of Business Administration at the College or a degree through one of our partner institutions.
"I am excited about this new certificate for several reasons; it gives students a start on a path that is completely up to them, they choose courses that are of interest, learn more about careers in those fields, and are part of our vibrant college community," said Stephanie Wells, Dean, Business and University Arts & Sciences. "These are all aspects of a college experience that lead to success in studies and for continued learning."
An education in the arts, humanities, and social sciences creates boundless education and career opportunities. Through course selections students develop foundational skills in critical thinking, effective writing, creativity, adaptability, and teamwork; skills employers look for in today's dynamic workforce. Education advisors at the College are available to assist students in designing a course plan personalized for them.
"If in high school, you loved courses in Psychology, English, Social Justice, Philosophy, Communications, or Indigenous Studies or were interested in languages, creative writing, or literature, then this certificate is the right place for you," Wells said. "If you're considering a degree but need some time to experience options and find your inspiration, you can do that here."
The Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences certificate still has space for the fall or you can start in the winter or spring semesters.
