GBC Announces Launch of New Honours Bachelor of Business Administration (Management) Degree

George Brown College (GBC) has announced the launch of a new Honours Bachelor of Business Administration (Management) degree, welcoming students in September 2025.

The new School of Management program offers students a comprehensive pathway to business leadership through rigorous academic study and real-world experience. Designed to address the evolving needs of today's business environment, the program represents a significant investment in developing future business leaders with the right combination of theoretical knowledge and practical experience.

"The future of business leadership isn't just about textbook knowledge it's about understanding real-world challenges and developing the agility to drive organizational success in a global context," said Dr. Ian Austin, Dean of the Centre for Business. "This new degree program represents a strategic pathway, transforming passionate students into dynamic business professionals for a rapidly evolving marketplace."

New opportunities in business leadership

The program is comprised of eight semesters of full-time study, including essential concepts in economics and financial accounting, and advanced training in risk management and strategic leadership. Through its focus on modern business challenges such as sustainability, globalization, and workplace diversity, the program equips graduates to become adaptable and skilled business leaders.

"Our management degree program at George Brown College is well-rounded and features all of the key areas a business leader needs to know - from negotiation techniques to managing risk and understanding micro- and macroeconomics," notes Dr. Nadira Singh, Associate Dean of the School of Management. "It is a great option for students who would like to pursue a career in management or business development."

Applied learning in the field

Our faculty members remain active industry members with strong connections to the field, ensuring the program remains aligned with current business best practices and on top of emerging trends. Students engage with real-world business scenarios throughout their study, culminating in a co-op work placement to put their learning into practice in the final year of study.
