NIAGARA COLLEGE
Week-long mental health awareness campaign enters fourth year at NC

October 4, 2016

The Niagara College Student Administrative Council (NCSAC) in partnership with the College Student Alliance (CSA,  is proud to bring the Yellow Umbrella Project (YUP) back to the halls of Niagara College.

Now in its fourth year, the YUP campaign will continue to bring attention to mental health in post-secondary institutions across Ontario. Niagara College and the NCSAC have been at the forefront of institutions to embrace the campaign.

"Every summer, our Board of Directors gets together for a weekend retreat before the school year begins to identify priorities for the upcoming school year. This year, mental health awareness and advocacy on campus was unanimously favoured by our board," said NCSAC president, AliceMary Nakiwala. "We couldn't be happier to continue building an open, transformative dialogue about mental health at Niagara College."

The Yellow Umbrella Project will take place from Monday, October 3 until Friday, October 7 at all Niagara College campuses.
