The Vancouver School District is pleased to announce that Dan Blue will join our team as executive director of finance.
Dan joins our VSB team from Simon Fraser University (SFU) where he served as a director, financial services since 2019. He brings more than 20 years of financial executive leadership to VSB. In addition to his public sector experience, Dan also held leadership roles in the private sector, including as Chief Financial Officer for Central 1 Credit Union. He also currently serves on the Burnaby School District's (School District No.41) audit sub-committee as well as a member of the board of directors with the SFU Foundation.
Dan is known as a collaborative finance leader with a track record of executing complex projects in multi-stakeholder environments. In addition, he brings experience in strategic and operational planning, capital management and organizational change. Dan holds a Bachelor of Commerce from UBC and is a Chartered Financial Analyst and Chartered Professional Accountant.
Dan will join our VSB team in late November.
