Now that vaccinations are underway for children aged 12 to 17, the Provincial Health Officer, the BC Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC), and Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) have emphasized how important it is for everyone to get vaccinated to keep themselves, and others, safe.
According to the BCCDC, having children vaccinated helps protect them and the people around them, including those who might get very sick from COVID-19. The more people who are vaccinated, the harder it is for the virus to spread.
To get the word out, secondary students from the Vancouver School District created videos in 10 different languages to explain how students can register for their COVID-19 vaccine.
Student videos are available in Spanish, French, Korean, Mandarin, Cantonese, Tagalog, Punjabi, Russian, English, and Japanese.
In the videos, students explain VCH's two-step process on how to register for COVID-19 vaccine appointments:
- Step 1: Register for booking at www.gov.bc.ca/getvaccinated
- Step 2: Book your appointment online after receiving notice from VCH
The District is pleased to support our Public Health partners as they rollout COVID-19 vaccinations to youth.
