The Class of 2024 has earned $10.8 million in scholarships and counting, smashing recent records. In total, they've been offered millions more than any other graduating class in over 5 years.
These awards, large and small, help students to achieve their post-secondary dreams. Some are celebrating significant scholarship wins, such as the following:
Ella Ricketts from Burnaby Central Secondary will be attending Harvard University on a full scholarship valued at more than $400,000. With the Harvard Faculty Scholarship, Ella plans to study public policy and government and is considering careers in political analytics and law.
The recipient of a Schulich Leader Scholarship for $120,000, Charis Chang from Burnaby North Secondary will be taking Engineering at Queens University.
Melina Calero from Alpha Secondary earned a $45,000 Cmolik Foundation Scholarship. Melina will attend Simon Fraser University in the Health Sciences program and plans to become a pediatric nurse.
Amy Jung from Burnaby Mountain Secondary will be studying Life Sciences after earning a $100,000 International Scholar Award at the University of Toronto.
Anita Nambuuza from Byrne Creek Community School earned a $100,000 Ted Rogers Legacy Scholarship, which is awarded to 10 students each year who are attending a technology-focused program. Anita plans to study Computer Engineering at the Okanagan campus of the University of British Columbia.
From Cariboo Hill Secondary, Melody Yeung earned a $100,000 University of Toronto International Merit Admissions Award.
Thirteen students from the Class of 2024 were awarded Beedie Luminaries scholarships of up to $44,000 each for their post-secondary studies:

- Ermira Progri, Burnaby South Secondary
- Sania Shenasa, Cariboo Hill Secondary
- Dia Suleiman, Byrne Creek Community School
- Ethan Sun, Burnaby Central Secondary
- Lulyana Tsehaye, Byrne Creek Community School
- Tina Zeng, Moscrop Secondary
