The Battle River School Division Board of Trustees will have new faces on the executive for the coming year.
Lorrie Sitler, a Trustee for the City of Camrose, was elected as the Chair for 2015-2016, while Laurie Skori, Trustee from Flagstaff County East, was selected as Vice Chair.
Both Ms. Sitler and Ms. Skori are first-term members of the Board of Trustees. Ms. Sitler has served as Vice Chair since 2013.
The first action of the new executive members was to express their thanks and appreciation to outgoing Board Chair Kendall Severson, who stepped into the leadership role after the election in the fall of 2013, as one of the few Board members with any previous experience.
"We're grateful for all that you've done to help lead us through the last two years," Skori said. "We appreciate your dedication very much!"
Members of the Board also selected their committee placements for the coming year, handled a few other "housekeeping" items required in order to get the year underway and confirmed that they will continue to meet on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month, starting at 9:00 a.m.
The first regular Board meeting of the 2015-2016 school year will take place on September 10.
