The Grande Prairie Public School Division (GPPSD) received an appreciated contribution to its division Nutrition Program thanks to a generous $10,000 donation from the Grande Prairie Firefighters Charitable Foundation. For over seven years, the Foundation has been committed to supporting the Nutrition Program, ensuring students have access to nutritious food essential for academic and personal growth.
The donation was presented to GPPSD's Corinne Kruse, Director of Teaching and Learning, by Justin Davidson, Chair of the Foundation, his son, Brooks, committee member Mark Brazier, and the firefighters from Bravo 2.
Funds will go towards schools as they continue their daily support of students with breakfast and snacks.
In addition to this substantial donation, the Foundation continues its support of GPPSD students through other events, including the donation of 200 tickets for the upcoming Battle of the Badges hockey game on November 26 and launching its 12th annual Sparky's Secret Wish Campaign. The Wish Campaign allows GPPSD staff to nominate families who could use a hand-up during the Christmas season.
Through the nomination process, the Foundation is donating $25,000 in gift cards to selected families across all three City of Grande Prairie school divisions.
Grande Prairie Firefighter's Charitable Foundation's commitment to the community is making a real difference in the day-to-day lives of GPPSD students. If you'd like to support the work of the Foundation, contact gpfdcharity@gmail.com.
