Northland School Division (NSD) congratulates Meaghean Lehr, a J.F. Dion School educator, on being selected as the Alberta School Boards Association (ASBA) Zone 1 Edwin Parr Teacher Award recipient. The Edwin Parr Teacher Award recognizes first year teachers who demonstrate outstanding dedication and commitment in the field of education. Meaghean is the fourth NSD educator to receive the Zone 1 Edwin Parr Teacher Award.

Meaghean's dedication to students and her connection to culture are clear in her work. We appreciate the care and effort she brings to helping students learn and grow."

The announcement was made during the ASBA Edwin Parr and Friends of Education Awards Banquet on May 13, 2026, in Peace River. Northland School Division will continue the celebration by recognizing Meaghean at its Long Service Awards on May 22. She will also be recognized alongside Edwin Parr Teacher Award recipients from Zones 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 during the ASBA Fall General Meeting from November 15 to 17, 2026, at the Westin in Edmonton.
