Each year in February, hundreds of Grade 12 students from across Manitoba write the Provincial Math Contest from the University of Manitoba. This year, due to her outstanding achievement on the Manitoba Mathematical Competition contest, John Taylor Collegiate student (Malinda) Linhui H. was invited to attend the MMC dinner, which honours the Top 5 finalists in Manitoba. Malinda finished as the top female contestant in the entire province!

The dinner and cash prizes were sponsored by the Winnipeg Actuaries Club, the University of Manitoba, the Manitoba Association of Mathematics Teachers, AMT and the Canadian Mathematical Society.
On behalf of SJASD, we are very proud of Malinda's recent achievement and would like to wish her the best of luck with her Life Science degree at McGill University next year! Congratulations!
