A teacher from Belleisle Elementary School wins an APEGNB Inspirational STEM Teacher Awards

On behalf of the students, staff and the Belleisle community, we would like to congratulate our Grade 3/4 teacher, Mrs. Marlise Widdershoven-Kilpatrick who has won one of the 5 APEGNB Inspirational STEM Teacher Awards for her enthusiastic, innovative teaching and commitment to student learning through technology.

Mrs. Widdershoven-Kilpatrick was nominated for promoting a learning environment with technology to better prepare our students for the future. Mrs. KW, known by her students, had her class participate in a technological coding project allowing her students to create an interactive map of Canada using Makey Makeys and the website Scratch.

Mrs. KW will attend the first Innovation in Education Gala and School Maker Faire for the awards presentation in Fredericton. The award comes with a $2000 cheque to help her achieve her educational goals in the classroom.
