Our Grade 10 Civics classes participated in the Youth Philanthropy Initiative (YPI) Project again this year. Our students teamed up and researched one charity and then made a presentation on their value to our community.

The people at YPI in Toronto donated $5000 to be divided between the four best presentations this year. Our winners this year are the Canadian Cancer Society (Nate Framst, Brett Knechtel, Josh Whittaker); the Emily Murphy Centre (Emilia Auster, Kelsey Smith, Mike Turner); Relay for Life (CCS) (Mallory Daykin, Aude Stock-Bateman) and Shelterlink (Preston Baillie). Each of these charities will receive $1250 thanks to the hard work of our students.
