New Vice-Principal at Elrose Composite School

Elrose Composite School (ECS) will have a Vice-Principal starting in the 2023-24 school year and current ECS Grades 4-5 teacher, Hayley Kingwell, has been selected for the position.

"We are excited to have Hayley join our administrator team," stated Sun West Director of Education Vicki Moore, "Hayley is all about helping each child reach their potential as a student and a human being and she and Principal TJ Wright will be a great team."

Originally from Davidson, Ms. Kingwell earned a Bachelor of Education from the University of Saskatchewan with a major in Social Sciences and a minor in English in 2015. While in university Ms. Kingwell was nominated for the Bates Award for Excellence in Student Teaching and was an invitee to the Golden Key International Honour Society.

Prior to her convocation from university, Ms. Kingwell did her internship at Outlook High School and worked as a tutor with the Learning Disabilities Association of Saskatchewan. She started her teaching career in May-June 2015 as a Grade 3-4 teacher at North West Central School in Plenty. In August 2015, she became the Grade 4-5 teacher at Elrose Composite School where she has been since then.

While at ECS, Ms. Kingwell supported a variety of student and staff events aligned with school learning and culture goals in the School Learning Improvement Plan. She collaborated with the student support teacher and consultant to plan differentiated lessons to support students with unique learning needs. She also volunteered as coach for various senior and junior level sports teams.

"I am really looking forward to taking on a new role at ECS!" Stated Ms. Kingwell. "I have loved my time in the school and community for the past eight years and am really looking forward to getting the opportunity to connect with even more students and their families. ECS is an amazing place to be and I am so proud to be a part of our Eagles family." She added.
