CONSEIL SCOLAIRE PUBLIC DU NORD-EST DE L'ONTARIO
New Principal at École publique Étoile du Nord

September 8, 2023

The Conseil scolaire public du Nord-Est de l'Ontario (CSPNE) is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Danyka Burton as principal of École publique Étoile du Nord in Iroquois Falls.  She succeeds Chantal Tremblay, who has been the school's principal since September 2022.

Ms. Burton is a passionate and dedicated teacher who enthusiastically accepts this new challenge.  She is known for her ability to collaborate with staff and families to create a learning environment that fosters student growth, well-being and success.

A member of the CSPNE team since September 2008, Ms. Burton has had the pleasure of working as an elementary school teacher in Iroquois Falls and, more recently, in Timmins.  This is a great opportunity for her to reconnect with the school community and the wider community of Iroquois Falls.

She assumed the role of vice-principal at École publique Lionel-Gauthier since December 2022.

The CSPNE would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Ms. Burton on this new professional adventure, and to thank Ms. Tremblay for her commitment to the CSPNE family over the years.

In accordance with universal values, the CSPNE covers an area of 46,453 km2 and provides the communities of Hearst, Kapuskasing, Iroquois Falls, Timmins, Temiskaming Shores, Sturgeon Falls, North Bay and Parry Sound with quality French-language education. Close to 2,100 northeastern Ontario students have chosen French-language public schools.
