The Conseil scolaire public du Nord-Est de l'Ontario (CSPNE) is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Andrea Bertrand-Gendron as Principal of École publique Le CÅ“ur du Nord in Kapuskasing.Â
Ms. Bertrand-Gendron has been vice-principal of Le CÅ“ur du Nord since 2015 and has over 20 years of experience in education. Her experiences as Vice-Principal, resource teacher and educational leader, have allowed her to develop professional skills that enable her to assume the role of principal with leadership and confidence.Â
Yves Laliberté, Director of Education, is confident that Ms. Bertrand-Gendron will ensure positive continuity for the Kapuskasing Francophone and Francophile school community and the great CSPNE team. "We are convinced that Ms. Bertrand-Gendron's appointment will benefit the students, staff, families and community partners of École publique Le Cœur du Nord. Her commitment to the well-being and success of our students is obvious. We know her vision is to maintain close collaboration with the school team and systemic staff to achieve the goals of the school and the School Board."
Ms. Andrea Bertrand-Gendron will succeed Mr. Patrick La Salle, with whom she has worked closely for nearly 10 years. Mr. La Salle recently announced his acceptance of a new challenge as principal of École secondaire publique Écho du Nord, starting in September 2024. The hiring process for the position of Vice-Principal will begin shortly.
The CSPNE wishes every success to the two new directors, who will soon be taking on new responsibilities.
