The Halton District School Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Eleanor McIntosh as Superintendent of Education effective Jan. 29, 2024. This position is an addition to the senior team, through Ministry-directed funding, to help the HDSB continue to achieve success in student learning and further the goals of the HDSB Multi-Year Plan. Eleanor was a successful candidate in a Superintendent hiring process that took place in Spring 2023.
Eleanor McIntosh
Eleanor began her career as an elementary math and science teacher and has been a school administrator in the Durham District School Board for 20 years, serving diverse school communities in five different schools. She has worked in a variety of settings with a number of specialized programs in Ontario and internationally.
Eleanor has developed her leadership skills in the various roles she has held including Vice-principal, centrally assigned Education Officer and a secondary school Principal. She holds a master's degree in educational leadership and administration and undergraduate degrees in biochemistry and kinesiology.
