OFSAA Alpine Skiing Championships

March 11, 2025

The Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board is proud to celebrate the outstanding achievements of Andrew Bunkowsky and Vincent DiFrancesco at the 2025 OFSAA Alpine Skiing Championships.

Andrew Bunkowsky, a Grade 10 student at St. Mary Catholic Secondary School, captured the Gold Medal in the Giant Slalom at Osler Bluff Ski Club. This remarkable accomplishment follows his victories at the Halton Cup and GHAC, solidifying his place as a top competitor in the sport. As a para skier, Andrew has demonstrated exceptional determination, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to his sport. His sportsmanship and leadership continue to inspire his peers and teachers.

Vincent DiFrancesco, a Grade 11 student-athlete from St. John Henry Newman Catholic Secondary School, won the Antique Bronze medal in the Giant Slalom and finished 8th in the Slalom event. His success follows a Gold Medal performance at the GHAC events leading up to OFSAA. This marks the first Alpine Ski medal for Newman in over 40 years.

Congratulations to Andrew and Vincent on these well-deserved achievements.
