Nicole Lee - Superintendent of Student Achievement, Family of Schools 4
Nicole Lee will be joining HWDSB as the Superintendent of Student Achievement for Family of Schools 4, effective September 25.
Nicole is a passionate and principled academic leader with over 20 years of service in education, including 11 years of diverse experience in administrative leadership roles supporting pedagogical best practices. Currently serving as Principal at Wedgewood Junior School in Toronto District School Board (TDSB), Nicole has extensive experience in the areas of mentorship and coaching, student achievement, equity, technology, special education and mental health initiatives.
During her time as a teacher and administrator, Nicole was able to provide targeted supports for students in areas such as special education, English as a Second Language and more. Her work is guided by a deep respect for others in an approach that naturally builds collaborative leadership within a culture of adaptability, openness and resilience. Nicole believes in meaningful and transparent actions, and decisions that are made with integrity.
As a Superintendent of Student Achievement, Nicole looks forward to working with Executive Council to ensure programs are visionary, inspiring and motivating for staff, while being creative, inclusionary, relevant and engaging for students.
Michelle Lemaire - Superintendent of Program
Michelle Lemaire will be joining HWDSB as Superintendent of Program, effective October 10.
Michelle brings more than two decades of educational experience to Executive Council, with a background that spans teaching and administrative roles in schools in Burlington and Oakville (Gr. 7-12). In her recent position as a central system administrator, she successfully oversaw services related to registration, assessment and settlement for newcomer families. Michelle's perspective as an immigrant as well as her overseas teaching experiences have helped shape her commitment to advocating for students facing barriers.
Michelle holds a Master of Education (Curriculum), specializing in Measurement and Evaluation, as well as Bachelor's degrees in Chemistry, Mathematics, and Education. Her interest in international education systems informs her approach to educational practices.
Over her career, Michelle has been a local and global leader in education, engaging in professional learning through programs like the Fulbright Exchange and Leading Educators Across the Planet. She has also contributed to the development, implementation and assessment of curriculum and field experiences for teacher candidates in Niagara University's Teacher Education program. Her goal is to ensure equitable access to quality education for all students, especially newcomers to the country.
