Public Schools Renewal

The Lakehead District School Board is committed to the success and well-being of every student.

An initial staff report was presented by administration to the Lakehead District School Board Trustees on February 9 with details on proposed North Side and South Side Renewal Plans, as well as a proposed Renewal Plan for Hyde Park/Kingsway Park.

The plan presents a vision for the future that is focused on renewing and reinvigorating the Lakehead Public Schools system through school consolidations, renovations and new facility construction.

The proposed school renewal plan is based solidly on:

• Academic excellence, personal success and well-being for every student;
• Safe, equitable and inclusive school communities;
• Cutting-edge technology in every classroom;
• Significant investments in learning environments and facilities.

March 29, 2016

An orientation meeting for the South Side Accommodation Review Committee (ARC) was held at the Victoria Park Training Centre. The purpose of the meeting was to review Policy 9010 Pupil Accommodation Review as well as the initial staff report and school information profiles, and to discuss the meeting norms, terms of reference, and the role and responsibilities of the ARC members. Committee members also reviewed feedback received from the online School Renewal Survey.

April 4, 2016
