The Lambton Kent District School Board (LKDSB) has confirmed that it will offer the virtual learning option for elementary and secondary programming (Grades 3 - 12) for the 2024-2025 school year.
All students currently registered for virtual learning in 2023-2024 will be automatically pre-registered for virtual learning for 2024-2025. All students currently registered for in-person learning will be automatically pre-registered for in-person learning for 2024-2025. No further action is required if your child is remaining in their current programming option.
In order to assist with staffing and planning decisions, parents and guardians who wish to return to in-person learning or move to remote learning for 2024-2025 must contact the school they are currently attending by February 28, 2024 to initiate a transfer of programming for the 2024-2025 school year.
Please note that for students to participate in the virtual learning program, parents/guardians must provide proof of Ontario residency at the start of each school year. Virtual schools will communicate with registered families during the week of August 26th to arrange for proof of Ontario residency. This requirement must be confirmed by September 13, 2024.
In order to promote stability in classrooms, enrolment in the virtual learning program is intended to be a permanent, year-long commitment. Families will not be able to opt in or out of in-person and virtual learning during the 2024-2025 school year (exceptions will be considered on a case-by-case basis and accommodation will be based on space availability and may vary school-to-school and grade-by-grade). Students will be registered as McNaughton Avenue Public School (elementary) and Lambton Kent Composite School (secondary) students.
Should you have any specific questions about your child, please contact your current school directly.
