Trustee Ralf Mesenbrink, school board trustee for Wards 2, 3 and 4 in the City of Guelph, was acclaimed Chair of the Upper Grand District School Board at the Board Meeting on November 26, 2024.
This is Trustee Mesenbrink's third time serving as Chair. The position is for a one-year term.
"I'd like to thank my trustee colleagues for their support and confidence in both my leadership and in our ability to bring our voices together and make the best decisions for the system," said Mesenbrink.
Chair Mesenbrink highlighted the work that will continue in centering students and the priorities of the board's Multi-Year Plan. "What is important is every student's learning and wellbeing, striving for equity and sustainability, a strong staff and the publicly funded education system."
Also at the November 26 meeting, Trustee Katherine Hauser was acclaimed as Vice Chair. This is Trustee Hauser's third time serving as Vice Chair.
UGDSB Director of Education Peter Sovran offered his congratulations to Trustees Mesenbrink and Hauser. "I look forward to continuing our collaboration as we work together to achieve the goals of the Multi-Year Plan and achieving Vision 2026+," said Sovran.
