Student mobility: developing global skills

Recently, in conversations as wide-ranging as trade, climate change, and human rights, globalization has been top of mind for key decision-makers. The World Economic Forum(WEF) is poised to tackle the discussion at its Annual Meeting in Davos in January 2019, gathering world leaders under the theme Globalization 4.0. We are fast approaching a new phase of global cooperation shaped by advanced technologies and transformative innovations at a speed unparalleled in human history, says the WEF - and Canada is no exception.

Post-secondary institutions in Canada have long been grappling with how best to prepare students to succeed in the rapidly changing global marketplace. CICan's submission to the House of Commons Standing Committee on Finance (FINA) brings together six recommendations from its members for increasing inclusive economic growth and competitiveness in Canada, one of which is critical to this conversation: global skills and student mobility.
