Some of the Rainbow District School Board's schools welcomed new Principals effective February 3, 2025.
Rachel Booker is the new Principal of Queen Elizabeth II Public School. Rachel Booker's career began with the Halton District School Board before joining Rainbow District School Board in 2008. Her teaching experience extends across all grades in the elementary panel at a number of schools including R.H. Murray Public School, Algonquin Road Public School, C.R. Judd Public School and Chelmsford Valley District Composite School, where she was promoted to Vice-Principal in 2022. Rachel Booker recently completed her Masters of International Education and looks forward to sharing her expertise in school leadership at Queen Elizabeth II Public School.
Arynn Frantz has been appointed Principal of Westmount Avenue Public School. Arynn Frantz began her career with the Board in September 2006. She has extensive experience at the elementary level teaching across multiple grades, and spent more than 10 years focused on early intervention and special education. Arynn Frantz served as a Special Education Resource Teacher at MacLeod Public School before being promoted to Vice-Principal of Westmount Avenue Public School in 2024. That same year, she garnered the Barbara Konarek Memorial Award for her significant humanitarian contributions. Arynn Frantz is thrilled to continue serving the Westmount Avenue Public School community as Principal.
Kate Mackenzie has been appointed Principal of Program - Numeracy. Kate Mackenzie has been an educator with the Board since 2007, gaining experience at a variety of schools including Webbwood Public School, Churchill Public School, MacLeod Public School, Monetville Public School and Redwood Acres Public School. She taught math at Adamsdale Public School, and was also an Elementary Mathematics Consultant. Kate Mackenzie was appointed as Vice-Principal of Adamsdale Public School in 2019 before becoming Principal of Markstay Public School in 2023. Principal Mackenzie welcomes the opportunity to contribute to system-wide student achievement in her new leadership role.
Cori Pitre has been appointed Principal of Program - Literacy. Cori Pitre began her career with Rainbow District School Board in 1992 and has taught in both the elementary and secondary panels. In 2015, Cori Pitre was appointed Principal of Webbwood Public School and S. Geiger Public School, and has spent the last three years as Principal of Queen Elizabeth II Public School. Prior to becoming a Principal, she served as Vice-Principal of Little Current Public School, Webbwood Public School, S. Geiger Public School and Northeastern Elementary School. She is also a long-serving member of Rainbow District School Board's Equity and Inclusive Education and Education Research Committees. Principal Pitre looks forward to her new role on the student achievement team.
Lisa Puddester is the new Principal of Markstay Public School. Lisa Puddester has been an educator with Rainbow District School Board since 2007. She has garnered substantial experience working across various grades and programs including French Immersion at a number of elementary schools such as Northeastern Elementary School, Churchill Public School and Central Manitoulin Public School. In January 2020, she was promoted to Vice-Principal of Northeastern Elementary School where she has served for the last five years. Lisa Puddester is excited to work with the students, staff, families and community of Markstay Public School.
