A downtown Chatham restaurant, which also does charity work, is the recipient of a $400 donation from students in the Specialist High Skills Major Arts and Culture program at Ursuline College.
"The students wanted to do something to give directly to those in our community who need our help," says Kathryn Lacina, SHSM Lead at UCC. "This was the perfect way to do that."
The funds will support the restaurant's 'On the Wall-Off the Wall' program, which allows people to buy a meal for someone and peg a voucher to a cork board. Someone in need of food can take the voucher down and turn it in for a meal.
The restaurant also provides emergency bus fares and donations to student backpack, clothing, food and used toy programs.
The students are planning more initiatives in the future to support the Shepherd's Way Inn.
