On Monday, June 4, 2018 at the annual spring general meeting in Red Deer, Alberta's 61 school boards and members of the Alberta School Boards Association (ASBA) voted in a new president; a new vice-president; and appointed interim CEO, Valeria Palladino.
Lorrie Jess, board chair of Wolf Creek Public Schools was voted in as president of ASBA. Shortly thereafter, Trina Boymook of Elk Island Public Schools, and sitting member of the ASBA board of directors was voted in as vice-president.

ASBA members also voted on and passed a budget for the 2018/2019 year.
