During an October 17, 2023, visit to Polytechnique Montréal by a Unicamp delegation, the administrations of the two institutions signed an agreement that aims to strengthen collaborations between them.

Unicamp is a public research university founded in 1964 offering 70 undergraduate and 153 graduate programs. It has a student body of 35,000 and academic staff of 1,800, accounts for approximately 15% of research conducted in Brazil and produces more patents than any other research entity in the country.

Under the terms of the agreement, Polytechnique and Unicamp pledge to design and implement teaching and research activities in a variety of engineering fields, as well as to support faculty and student mobility to facilitate participation in those activities.

During the visit, coordinated by Polytechnique Montréal International (POINT), representatives of the Unicamp delegation and members of the Polytechnique community including the institution's Office of Research and Innovation, several of its departments and the TransMedTech Institute discussed opportunities for collaboration and the possibility of establishing research partnerships in Polytechnique's areas of excellence.

Polytechnique Montréal and Unicamp, both of which are members of the T.I.M.E. (Top International Managers in Engineering) international network of engineering universities and schools, have been collaborating since 2011.
