CONESTOGA COLLEGE
CCDTV honoured with two international awards for creativity

May 9, 2025

Conestoga's dedicated television channel CCDTV (Conestoga College Digital Television) was honoured with two Hermes Creative Awards.

The international competition for creative professionals awards the industry's best publications, branding collateral, websites, videos, and advertising, marketing, and communication programs.

CCDTV received two 2025 awards: platinum in the Entertainment category and gold in the TV Series category for its original series "Tour Gliding." The three-episode series shot entirely by drone visits cities where Conestoga has a campus, taking the viewer along a narrated tour of the landmarks, historical sites and natural areas.

The accolades are a welcome distinction for the college channel, still in its first year.

"These awards celebrate creativity, innovation and excellence in media, and it's an incredible honour to see our passion project celebrated on an international stage," said Bruno Cortez Sibella, manager of Events and Media Production.

Launched in summer 2024, CCDTV is a 24/7 livestream digital station available online and on streaming platforms including Roku TV and Apple TV that features engaging programs, insightful student features and informative content for the communities Conestoga serves.

Cortez Sibella thanked the people behind CCDTV for their dedication to this ambitious venture.

"I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to the entire CCDTV team your dedication, creativity and hard work have brought this vision to life. From developing original content to building a 24/7 streaming channel from the ground up, your talent and passion are the heartbeat of this success."

Pejman Salehi, executive dean of the schools of Applied Computer Science & Information Technology, Creative Industries, Engineering & Technology, and Trades & Apprenticeship, and director of Digital Learning Simulations, congratulated the CCDTV team on their award-winning efforts.

"Winning two Hermes Creative Awards is a testament to the exceptional work and dedication of the CCDTV team and our students at Conestoga. This prestigious recognition highlights the team's commitment to producing high-quality, innovative digital content that not only engages but also educates our community," Salehi said.

"The awards underscore the importance of the collaborative efforts, creativity and technical expertise in delivering outstanding media productions."
